Walking Stick Holder
Monday 06 January, 2014
The product design is great and it fits onto the walker really well. The stick rest is fine, but unfortunately the stick holder grip itself is a little too wide for my stick and it frequently falls out, not sure how this problem can be overcome. Glenda Hurricks

Well made product as described. Arrived within a few days. Although made of plastic they are sturdy and provide an excellent grip. Have already put them up on outside steps. Would recommend.

Step Stool With Safety Handrail
Saturday 12 January, 2013
I recently purchased this step stool for the bathroom and can wholeheartedly recommend it. We had been using a plastic stool which had never felt really safe when stepping in and out of the shower (which has a higher plinth than normal). It is very sturdy, and good quality. I was also sent a text to let me know the date and time of delivery.

Fingerless Wheelchair Gloves

Fantastic gloves. Fit and breathability is superb. Very good grip, especially when braking downhill. I don\'t leave the house without these. I go through many pairs. The only problem is that the dye in the leather stains my hands, especially in the rain, but it washes out eventually. I use these in combination with silicone non-slip pushrim covers for best grip in all weathers, which I also recommend.

Sero-Coccyx Cushion
Saturday 09 June, 2012
Having tried various coccyx cushions,I was browsing looking for a one, when I came across this site. The first thing I liked about the design was the fact that it wasn't wedge-shaped, a definite plus in my opinion. As it was only shown in a blue cover, I telephoned the company and enquired if it was available in black. I also asked if it could be verified that it was indeed NOT wedge-shaped, and the lady I was speaking with replied, "Hang on a second, I'll have a look because I'm sitting on one!" Satisfied that it seemed to fit the bill I ordered one and within an hour received an email to say that the item had been dispatched. At 12 noon THE NEXT DAY the doorbell rang and it was the postman with my cushion. If that's not 1st class service I don't know what is, and finally it's definitely the best cushion I've tried to date. Thank you for your excellent product and your excellent service. Kind regards. Mike A.

Jay Lite Wheelchair Cushion
Wednesday 19 January, 2011
I replaced my Jay-2 cushion with the Jay-Lite in Nov 2010 and have been very pleased with it. The Jay-2 plastic covered fluid pad did generate a lot of heat under your backside and this has been eliminated with the Jay-Lite. The firmness of seating position is just as good as the Jay-2 too, so you'll notice no difference in your posture positioning. Of course, you might wish to have your physiotherapist's advice before purchasing, especially if you have sensitive skin. Luckily, I have not and have not had any skin related issues. The lightness of the cushion is a major advantage over the Jay-2. Is so light it would blow away in a strong wind if you dropped it getting in to the car. I use the Velcro strip that is supplied on it to secure it to the Kuschall Ultra-Lite chair I use. The cushion is a must for those with little strength to lift it in & out of a car. The air-vents through its seat base do keep you much cooler as does the special cushion cover that comes with it. The cover is specifically made for this cushion and is an additional expense should you need to have a regular spare.
Transfer Board Curved
Sunday 19 December, 2010
I have been using a curved transfer board provided to me in the hospital when I was getting ready for returning home. My stay in hospital had lasted 15 weeks. I have had Multiple Sclerosis (MS) for more than 34 years and it has slowly but surely settled into Secondary Progressive MS. Before my stay in hospital I was able to transfer from seat to seat with ease by myself. I was able to walk a few steps a few times a day. In order to be able to return home, my only option was a curved sliding board because of my self-propelling wheelchair. I had to be trained to use the curved sliding board with assistance using a looped sliding sheet slightly pinched under the board by just one inch or two centimetres under me. I need to position the wheelchair at an angle less than 90 degrees between the bed chair and the bed so the transfer is short. The bed is close. The curve of the board fits around the wheel. It is flat. I feel safe! If I am transferring from wheelchair to another, I think it works better with the two seats placed at an angle of 90 degrees so both sets of wheels are in the inner curve AND the board is flat! Placing my hand on the board where I wish my bottom to be at the end of the transfer. I bend slightly forward and with feet on the ground I step sideways to the desired position. When the end with the pinched sliding sheet is visible I usually ask my assistant to release it. The joke is to say ?ǣgive me some gas???. Gaining a bit of speed provided by the looped sliding sheet I arrive safely without overtiring. My clothes and the floor are not covered in talcum powder that is used often instead of the looped sliding sheet. This is useful when a care assistant is timed by Social Services and Care Agencies to stay half an hour! I find it astonishing that care assistants are not trained using this method of transfer. It is difficult as a person receiving the service to show the safest way for the assistant to place the board under between the thigh and the body contoured pressure seat cushion. I have been given amazing explanations?ǪSome are adamant that the board should be used by me on my own! Some ignore the curve?Ǫsome place the curved board upside down?Ǫshowing the pads that are supposed to be underneath for the board to remain secure under the person using it! I wish I could meet the persons giving handling instructions! http://standup4ms.blogspot.com/ is where the whole story is. I wonder where I would be without my curved transfer board!
Elk Emergency Lifting Cushion
Friday 26 November, 2010
Having MS I seem to spend rather a lot of time sliding or falling to the floor. My main problem with this has been getting up again and this has always left me worn out. I bought the Elk cushion recently and I have to say it's been my best purchase ever. It is so easy to use and even with 2 completely useless legs I could get back into my chair. It also means that nobody else risks their back trying to get me up. When inflated the cushion is solid and very stable so I felt very sfe on it. Brilliant idea.
